Independent Visits

Independent Visits offer our certified handler/pet teams the flexibility to build deep, ongoing relationships with specific facility partners. In these autonomous sessions, teams visit locations such as hospitals, behavioral health centers, and schools on a self-coordinated schedule. This personalized approach allows for consistent, one-on-one therapeutic interactions tailored to the unique needs of the residents or students being served. Handlers manage these visits directly, acting as dedicated ambassadors for Pets Helping People while providing the focused, compassionate support that defines our mission within the Southeastern Wisconsin community.

In addition to hospitals, hospice, senior centers, universities, schools and libraries, we also partner with transformational organizations such as the American Red Cross, Women’s Correctional Center, Milwaukee County Courthouse and Sojourner Family Peace center to help bring comfort during challenging and stressful times.
